Awaaz envisions a just society that promotes and protects the rights of women, believes in gender equality and celebrates womanhood. Awaaz is a registered charity, no. 1110819.

Mission

To contribute towards our vision, Awaaz’s mission is to ensure a safe environment where women’s health rights; sexual and reproductive rights, social and economic empowerment are achieved, where links between them are at the heart of global and national policies, programs and practices focusing on women.

Aim

To provide quality services and empower women from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities to help them improve their overall health and well being.

Awaaz works on a range of cross-cutting issues — from health to improving healthy lifestyles and behaviours, women’s empowerment and leadership and all contributing to improved quality of life.

Programme Approach

Awaaz views diverse partnerships as integral to meeting its goals. In the last few years, we have created allies with women’s organisations; governments; and intergovernmental organisations to achieve its mission. Our core competency has been a ‘rights-based approach’, community focused interventions and high-level advocacy.
